CERTIFICATION
Today, Microsoft's certification programs
include the most certificants, along with a fairly broad range
of offerings. Also, as the biggest player in the software
marketplace, Microsoft's programs attract lots of interest and
coverage. The company's array of certifications imposes varying
requirements that range from completing a single exam to passing
as many as seven exams.
Today, Microsoft claims over 2 million
certified individuals across its many programs—a population
unsurpassed by any other vendor or organization.
Microsoft's exams are richly
supported—both with official tools (built by or approved by
Microsoft), which include classroom training, self-study kits,
computer-based training, online classes, and books—and through
a broad range of other publications that cover the same kind of
material. Although not as hot as they have been in the past,
current industry statistics indicate that Microsoft
certifications are still among the most sought-after of all IT
certifications.
